theory versus practice~

entry ni aku buat selepas kebengangan yg melanda diri bile ade certain students aku yg sesuka ati die je kate theory tu tak penting.. pergghhhh,,stetment tak mengagak tu..kalo tak tau teori,,lepas tu wat keje atas arahan mereka yg berteori..tak ke menunjukkan teori tu sgtla penting sebelom kite wat sesuatu..haishh,,malas nak berbalah..juz mampu tgok 'mereka2' ini yg sememangnya terlalu mentah nak menilai.. skang bley la cakap.. tggu kerja nnti ye..baru anda tahu kepentingan teori itu sendiri.. ~sigh~

kat bawah ni ade sedikit sebanyak ttg theory and practice..

Theory knowledge provides the legitimacy of facts, rules, and concepts founded upon research. As Schwan states, its “strength and value…lie in its generality, system, and economy”.

On the other hand, Schon describes how practical knowledge provides experience and skill in problem solving—resulting in the artistry by which the seasoned professional practices his trade. Practical knowledge also provides the opportunity to build what Schon terms ‘knowledge-in-action’ — the ability to apply tacit knowledge and make wise judgments in the light of new problems and situations.

In exploring this challenge of theory versus practice, Schwan cautions that we will perform (or practice) well only to the degree to which we consider the conditions to which the theory is to be applied. Furthermore, Schwan recommends that we not accept any single theory, but rather apply multiple theories to paint a more complete picture or more accurate assessment of a situation.

Then to address the question of which is more important — theory knowledge or practical knowledge — perhaps we can consider that while both are important, they can successfully operate independent of one another. For example, a person can successfully acquire or apply practical knowledge without conscious knowledge of the underlying theory. At the same time, a person can successfully acquire and focus on theoretical knowledge without ever venturing into the practical knowledge. It may, however, be argued that the more defensible and rewarding method would be to blend the two approaches.

konklusi yg aku dapat,nak jadi practitioner yg bagus kene jadi theorist yg bagus,takkan nak jdi org suruhan je. so,,dedue pon perlu n saling melengkapi ..sekian~

    hari2 kene kita wat somethng,, nak wat something takleh redah je..mesti kene pikir..selalunye,, kite tak sedar yg kite wat tu sebenarnye dtg dr 'teori' itu sendiri..

  3. emmmm..ok, kalau dlm contents pembelajaran, sbg contoh kita nk buat FYP(develop), msti ada methodology lah kan..lect or sv akan menekankan methodology (ia pun berasaskan teori kan) mempunyai bukti yg kukuh yg mnyatakan ia boleh digunakan...tp masalahnya mengapa student tidak boleh menghasilkan methodology sndiri sedangkan projek itu direka dan dihasilkan olehnya..?seolah2 kita telah disetkan sejak berzaman lg dlm sistem pembelajaran prlu mngikut teori2 dr luar...pernah cik acap terfikir tak apa yg sy fikirkan..?seolah2 kita dikawal or di kuasai dr segi pemikiran agar perlu mengikut teori dr luar..(just sbg tukar pandagan je agar kita memantapkan diri kita apatah lg cik acap adalah pnsyarah..so takut tiba2 ada yg brtanya soalan bgini,xde lah terkial2 nk jwb..hahaha)

  4. saya tak rase methodology perlu berlandaskan yg terdahulu..sometimes we as a supervisor ade bg opinion ttg jalan n da procedure to do da project..juz an idea..students actually bebas nak tukar ape2 yang patut n bersesuaian..tp jgn la sampai yg tak masuk akal..actually,, level dip n degree je kot yg btul2 ikot tlunjuk..once da masuk hi level,,anything kne create on ur own..tmbh2 PHD..sbb maybe bile da thp PHD,die da pegang all da basis theory..level dip n degree,,maybe agak rapoh,so tak berkembang sket.. *but,,ini tak bemakna semua pun macam tu..jgn salah anggap plak ye* ~juz my 3 cents :p ~
